Cove Security, which trades as Cove at covesmart.com, sells self-installed DIY home security systems. The equipment covers a hub, a touchscreen alarm panel, indoor and outdoor cameras, anti-burglary sensors, environmental sensors, medical alerts, and keyfobs. The hub connects directly to an internet router and comes with 4G cellular backup, a dual ethernet and 4G connection that keeps the security system working if the internet goes down. It also holds a 24-hour backup battery for use during power outages. Sensors link to the hub over a radio connection, and the cameras run on a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection. Setup begins with connecting the hub and touchscreen panel to a power source, after which an on-screen installation guide covers naming and positioning each sensor. Adhesive strips are provided with each device for sensor placement, and the DIY installation involves no drilling. Cove also offers monitoring plans, handling the 4G cellular connection and subscription itself, along with professional monitoring.
