Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated July 16, 2026
The short version: Promo Code Index is free to use. When you click a coupon, deal, or store link here and then make a purchase, the retailer may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it never affects which codes we list or how we rank them.
How we make money
We participate in affiliate programs with retailers through the affiliate networks CJ (Commission Junction), Rakuten Advertising, and Sovrn Commerce. When you follow an outbound link from this site and buy something, the network attributes the sale to us and the retailer pays us a commission, usually a percentage of the sale. That commission is the site’s only revenue. There are no ads, no sponsored placements, and no paid listings.
We also work with Impact, a fourth affiliate network. Its tracking tag loads on our pages only after you accept the cookie banner in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, loads with the page everywhere else, and never loads for a browser that sends Global Privacy Control, as described in our Privacy Policy. No retailer programme through Impact is live on the site yet, so today it earns us nothing; we will name a specific Impact retailer here once one is.
What this means for you
Following our link does not change the price the retailer charges you. The commission comes out of the retailer’s marketing budget, at no additional cost to you. After you click an outbound link, the affiliate network may set a cookie in your browser so the retailer knows the visit came from us. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you leave the site.
Our editorial independence
Commission rates never determine whether a code is listed or where it ranks. Feed listings are synced directly from retailer and network feeds and pruned automatically when they leave the feeds; listings we enter by hand come down when they end or we remove them. All of them are ranked by relevance and by anonymous “did this work?” feedback from visitors.
Which stores we carry is a different question, and commission plays a part in the answer there. Sovrn Commerce works with thousands of merchants, more than we can add, so when we pick which ones to bring onto the site we favor the ones Sovrn marks as preferred and the ones Sovrn reports pay more per click. That is where the choice ends: once a store has a page, its codes are ranked the same way every other store’s are, by relevance and by visitor feedback, never by payout.
What we don’t claim
We do not market codes as “verified”, because we don’t test codes at checkout. What we can honestly promise is freshness: feed listings come straight from the networks’ live feeds, show their real expiry dates and last-synced times, and are removed when the feeds drop them. The “did this work?” votes that help rank codes are visitors’ reports, not our endorsement.
Why we disclose this
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the United States Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255), which require us to clearly disclose the material connection between this site and the retailers we link to.
